Dr. LaMar Hasbrouck is a health leader and author committed to advancing population health and inspiring future professionals. His mission, “Inform and Inspire to Improve Human Health,” is shaped by his experiences growing up in a community with significant health challenges. Since 2016, he has led DLM LLC, a consulting firm.
Notably, he was named Illinois’ “Top Doc” while heading the state’s health department and has held roles as a consultant for the American Medical Association and COO of the Cook County Department of Public Health. Previously, he served as Executive Director of the National Association of County and City Health Officials, representing over 3,000 local health departments.
With over a decade at the CDC, Dr. Hasbrouck played key roles in global health initiatives, managing outbreaks like swine flu and Ebola. He became a national authority during the COVID-19 pandemic, sharing insights with major media outlets.
Dr. Hasbrouck has taught at various medical and public health schools and received the 2023 Public Service Award from the UCLA Alumni Association. He holds a BA and MPH from UC Berkeley, graduated as a Dean’s Scholar from UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine, and completed his residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He also earned an MBA from the University of Saint Mary and a leadership certificate from Harvard Kennedy School. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and author of G Street Lion: Stalking a Dream (2016) and COVID BYTES: Naked Musings of a Disease Detective (2022).
