Mark Echo Hawk is a Partner at Echo Hawk & Olsen, PLLC, based in Pocatello, Idaho, where he leads a distinguished Indian law practice. For over two decades, he has championed Tribal interests in a wide spectrum of governance matters—ranging from treaty rights and leasing to taxation, 638 contracting, health care, education, natural resource management, code drafting, gaming regulation, and lobbying.
A recognized authority in Tribal economic development, Mark advises on Section 17 corporate charters, SBA 8(a) contracts, Tribal hospitality ventures, mortgage and housing finance, Tribal health insurance, and the setup of Tribal financial institutions. He also serves businesses working with Tribes or on Reservation lands.
In addition to serving as Tribal prosecutor and judge, Mark currently holds the role of Chief Justice of the Pawnee Nation Supreme Court. Fluent in Spanish, he enjoys pickleball, running, hiking, archery, and a variety of sports.

He’s professionally active, serving on the U.S. Sentencing Commission’s Tribal Issues Advisory Group, the Pawnee Nation Supreme Court, and as member or board member of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Shoshone‑Bannock Tribal Bar Association, and the board of Federal Public Defender Services of Idaho.
